Dr. Miller is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church.  The recipient of several academic honors, she earned the B.A. degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and M.Th. and D.Min. degrees from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University.  Since 1971 she has been in pastoral ministry, serving churches in Arkansas, Texas, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.  She is currently Pastor of Oak Creek Community United Methodist Church in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

Dr. Miller and her husband have two grown daughters, Heather and Mary.

During the last seventeen years, Dr. Miller has written numerous articles and curriculum materials for the United Methodist Publishing House.  Her specialty is adult education, but she has authored publications for all age groups from elementary students to senior high school youth.  She has written both the Resource Book and the Leader's Guide for Good News for All:  The Gospel of Luke, as well as the Resource Book for Into the World:  The Acts of the Apostles and the Leader's Guide and Resource Book for The Light Will Shine:  A Study for Advent.
