Donald L. Griggs is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  He has spent his whole professional career in the field of Christian education serving as an Associate Minister for Christian education in three different congregations, among other assignments.  In April 1999 he retired from active ministry and his position of Associate Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sacramento, California.  he received his M. Div. and D. Min. degrees from San Francisco Theological Seminary in 1960 and 1983 respectively.  his dissertation was on The Pastor as Teacher:  A Strategy for Equipping Pastors to be Teachers.

Prior to accepting the call to Sacramento, Don was on the staff of The LOGOS System Associates for ten years where he and his wife Pat, served as managing editors for developing the Faith for Life Curriculum for grades one to twelve.  Don also served as Director of Training and Special Projects for LOGOS.  From 1978 to 1984 he served on the faculty of the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Virginia, As Dean of Extended Ministries and Associate Professor of Christian Education.

Dr. Griggs has served on the Editorial Board of The Kerygma Program since 1982 and has authored both the Resource Book and the Leader's Guide for the elective course, Discovering the Psalms:  Passion, Promise and Praise.  Kerygma has also published Meeting God in the Bible:  Sixty Devotions for Groups that is a supplementary resource to be used in a wide variety of settings with adult groups.  In addition, Don has authored or co-authored more than twenty books in the field of Christian Education.  He is best known for his book Teaching Teachers to Teach which is still in print and has been translated into three different languages.

Don and Pat have retired to Livermore, California, where they continue writing and editing Christian education resources as well as maintaining a web site.  They have three children:  Cathryn, a teacher; Scott, a photographer, and Mark a Presbyterian Pastor.  Don continues to be available for short-term teaching engagements and leadership training events.  And he enjoys playing golf and volleyball, bowling, developing his computer skills and traveling.
