Exodus 3:7

"Then the Lord said, 'I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt. I have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters. Indeed, I know their sufferings.'"

No one who suffers need to be alone. God knows what it is like to suffer.

Exodus 34:6

"The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness"

He is patient. God is not quick to judge us, but bears with us for a long time, more ready to forgive than we are to ask forgiveness.

Exodus 23:9

"You shall not oppress a resident resident alien; you know the heart of an alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt."

Strangers all around us -- strange in one way or another. Look at the strangest one, and see someone God loves.
